As we look ahead to the fifth anniversary of the CFMOTO Border Battle XC series, we are excited to announce a 2022 schedule that will include two new venues and for the first time, the addition of a Sprint Enduro round.
It has continually been our goal to bring a fresh look to what has become the most prestigious off-road series in the Midwest and that means mixing it up from the same old hammered out courses and experimenting with the types of racing that our competitors ask for.
New this season is what will be an awesome destination race at the North Coast Adventure facility in the shadows of the Porcupine Mountains on the south shore of Lake Superior. We recently starting planning a course on this 1,000 acre property and are greatly looking forward to another showdown on the District 16 schedule that will feature a mix of wide flowing trail, creek bottoms, grass track and traditional single track.
The North Coast venue is in the start up phase with a 44 unit electric hook-up campground set to open for our event and has given us full access to design and cut trails as we see fit, providing virgin trail for those who make it to the inaugural event. This vacation destination in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula also offers hundreds of miles of UTV trails, scenic overlooks and plenty of north woods hiking, fishing and recreation activities nearby.
Our second new venue is on another great parcel of private land near Nevis, Minnesota and will feature the series first-ever Sprint Enduro. Once again we will be able to build race-specific trail connecting existing two-track and single track to create a first-tracks opportunity for our competitors. This event will feature two loops of approximately 4 miles with riders having to complete between 4 and 6 laps on each loop depending on skill level.
Rounding out the series will be our traditional season opener at ERX Motor Park, the dual sanctioned D23/16 shootout at CMJ Raceway in Hixton, Wisconsin and our hometown race at the beautiful Trax North facility in Crosby, Minnesota.
We will be posting individual event information in the coming weeks, as well as a guide to the Sprint Enduro format and what that race day will look like for our various classes.
For 2022 all five rounds will count towards year end Championships IN ALL CLASSES. However, riders will not have to compete in a minimum number of races to be eligible for year end awards.
