Troy Horbaty strikes first winning the opening round of CFMOTO Border Battle XC presented by Klim competiton. Horbaty picked up the $750 payday after dominating the mid to late part of the race. Early leader Nick Swenson jumped built a massive gap in the opening laps before dropping out after clipping a rock and breaking a water pump.
Devon Jirik and Nathan Prebe rounded out the podium in a heavily contested battle of 20 AA riders.
The series’ first-ever visit to the Appleton OHV Park in Appleton, Minnesota was held in conjunction with the opening round of the Dakota Scramble Series and drew 415 riders from throughout the Midwest and Canada, with over 1,200 spectators attending the event.
