For the remainder of the 2024 season, we will be experimenting with a Senior Sportsman class for riders 40 and over of all skill levels. In response to feedback from a number of older riders who have cut back on their racing because they no longer have the time or desire to compete in an A level age class, the Sr. Sportsman class will start on the 40/50 B row in the afternoon race but will have a 90 minute out.
While the current Sportsman 1 class allows for riders in this category to compete, that class is starting to get overcrowded at many events and is a bit unfair, and quite frankly unsafe, with the number of faster, more experienced riders making their way through an entire field of beginners who are racing for class wins and points championships.
We understand that some parents take part in the morning Sportsman 1 class so they can help with kids competing in the afternoon A/B race and that is perfectly fine and acceptable.
Riders competing in any 40 or older age class in the morning C race are eligible to enter the Sr. Sportsman class in the afternoon. Sr. Sportsman will be a non-points class for 2024 but will be considered for a points/year-end awards class for 2025 pending feedback and participation.
Registration for Sr. Sportsman at round 3 in Brainerd, Minnesota is now live on our MotoTally signup page – https://www.moto-tally.com/BBXC/PreEntry.aspx
