What is a Sprint Enduro?

Sprint Enduros are a rapidly growing format in the U.S. and the standard type of off-road competition globally. Sprint enduros are conducted on multiple loops ranging from 2-5 miles in length, with racers completing each loop, or test, a designated number of times depending on their class.

At the start of each test riders leave one at a time every 15 seconds and are racing against the clock on each lap. After completing all of the required laps on each test, a rider’s times are added up for a final time that is scored against others in the class.

During a specific race, C class for example, riders may have time to take a quick break for a drink, or make an adjustment to their bike, but will also need to stay on task to complete all laps in designated time.

This event will have two tests between 3.5 and 4 miles in length. The Cross test will feature a 1 mile grass track surrounding the pit area, with an additional mix of wide trail and single track leading back into scoring. The Enduro test will have a shorter amount of wide, open trail with a larger percent of Pine row and hardwood single track.

It is currently estimated that each class will have to complete the following number of laps on each of the two tests.

Youth & C classes: 2 laps each – 4 total tests

B classes: 3 laps each, 6 total tests

A classes: 4 laps each, 8 total tests
