Border Battle XC was formed with one goal in mind: to put Midwest off-road racing on the map. What began as a grassroots effort to bring more awareness to cross-country racing in the region has grown into one of the most anticipated race series in the area, drawing competitors and fans from across state lines each season.
The series recently entered a new chapter under the ownership of Chad West and his family, longtime BBXC community members whose roots in the sport run deep. For Chad, taking over the series wasn't a business decision; it was a natural next step for someone who has lived and breathed off-road racing for years. That same passion drives everything from course design to race day operations.
At Border Battle XC, we believe the best racing happens when great venues, serious competition, and a tight-knit community all come together. That's what we're building, one race at a time.
Border Battle XC was built on a simple belief: off-road racing deserves a bigger stage in the Midwest. Our mission is to grow the sport by delivering well-organized, high-energy cross-country events that bring competitors and fans together across the region — from beginners finding their footing to seasoned racers chasing the podium.
Border Battle XC is led by Chad West and his family, who have been part of the BBXC community for years before taking the reins of the series. What started as a passion for racing has grown into a full commitment to building something lasting. Chad and his crew bring hands-on experience, a deep love for the sport, and the kind of dedication that only comes from people who have raced, wrenched, and volunteered at these events themselves.
Border Battle XC is for everyone who loves to ride; from first-timers lining up for their debut race to seasoned competitors hunting championship points. Our events draw riders from across the Midwest who share a love for the dirt, the competition, and the community that forms around it. Whether you're here to win or just to finish, you belong on this starting line.
